2010 - 2011 It's the Beginning of another year and we are back to stay!

This blog is to inform parents and students as to the activities in our classroom. I feel extremely accountable for my students' progress in school and I will do my best to give your child a positive experience as I present new concepts to them. I will update this blog each week, so feel free to check it often. I hope this blog will provide a more open communication with you.

We have a new face in our resource room. Her name is Susan Hereth. We are excited to work with her. I'm sure the students will learn great things from her expertise.

The first week of school we will be testing the students in hopes of placing them in the most appropriate class. Take some time to practice reading and solving addition, subtraction, multiplication or division problems to prepare for these assessments.

I found some fabulous websites that contain reading passages, and math worksheets. If you would like to bone up on your reading and math skills, try going to the following sites and see how much fun learning can be.

www.starfall.com - early readers

www.superteacherworksheets.com - grade level reading passages and math skills worksheets

We have made a change in scheduling IEP's. We will assign an IEP date for your child at the beginning of the year. A letter will be sent home with your child informing you of this date. Please post it on your calendar and plan all events around this date. We hope this change will help us be more efficient in our planning. Thank you for your cooperation.

I love the first days of school and look forward to seeing you all again.
Come and find me at the End Of the Hall At Park View.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 801-465-6010 or e-mail me at joann.kirk@nebo.edu .

Thank you for allowing me to teach your child. My hope is they will feel successful in their school experience.

Love, Mrs. Kirk
